Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a great time for some meaningful discussions with your students about peace, love and equality. If you want to add a craft and writing activity to go along with your discussion as a culminating piece we’ve got you covered.
One of our favorite activities to kick off the week of or the week before MLK day is this VW Peace Van writing and craft. Not only is it a cute bulletin board, hallway display or door decoration, it is a great way to display your students writing. Students can brainstorm how they can drive peace into the world and then turn their ideas into a writing piece. Complete the craft and you have a MLK decorations ready for your classroom. There are differentiated writing pages so this peace and kindness activity really works for many different grade levels in elementary school.
