This Valentine’s Day
Listen, we know Valentine’s Day for adults is romantic and centered around commitments of love. So sometimes focusing on such a passionate (cringes while saying it) holiday with students feels a strange.
However, when redirecting the conversation to be about self-esteem, confidence, and an appreciation for oneself, it becomes a holiday celebrating how much we love the person we see in the mirror.
As primary teachers, we try and instill these feelings of positivity and pride early on in our students’ lives. The easiest and most efficient way of introducing these lessons is with strong and beautifully written children’s literature.
